David Faulkenberry

President

At FBMC, David has lead the company to continued growth and high client satisfaction and is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy and corporate direction for the organization.

David joined FBMC in 2011, and has more than 20 years of executive-level experience. He has an extensive background in employee benefits, finance, and capital management, including a stint as the Chief Financial Officer of the Florida Lottery. Previously, as the Deputy Secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services, David set the strategic direction and leadership of such workforce programs as the Florida Retirement System, Division of Human Resource Management, Division of State Group Insurance and Human Capital Management.

Michelle Robleto

Chief Client Officer

Michelle is responsible for managing all operational aspects of the company including Technology Services and Benefits Administration.

Michelle joined FBMC in 2013, with more than 25 years of public and private sector experience in insurance operations, product development and public policy under her belt. Her experience includes tenure in high-profile leadership roles such as Florida Deputy Insurance Commissioner, Director of the Division of State Group Insurance, Executive Director of the Florida Comprehensive Health Association, and Director of Product Development for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware.

Patrick Flemming, Esq.

Chief Regulatory Officer

Patrick is responsible for all aspects of corporate governance, risk management, legal and regulatory compliance, and corporate regulatory training.

Patrick is an attorney licensed to practice law in all state courts in Florida. He graduated from the Florida State University College of Law, cum laude, and earned a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Finance from the FSU College of Business. Prior to working with FBMC, Patrick served as an Assistant General Counsel for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, where he handled complex regulatory issues and litigation involving primarily life and health insurers and third party administrators, including licensing, solvency, and product review.

Anne Newman, OFC

Anne Newman

Chief Financial Officer

Anne is responsible for the management of all financial activities, including the development and management of budgets, cash flow projections, financial reporting, forecasting, client accounts, and capital and non-capital expenditures.

Anne graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus on finance, and subsequently obtained her CPA license. She spent the first 10 years of her career in public accounting in auditing and assurance. Her clients ranged from small private companies to large public companies. Anne started her career in the public industry in the Reporting Group at Citigroup assisting in compiling Citigroup’s SEC reporting and filings. She spent two years living in New Zealand and had an opportunity to work in accounting at a shipping port.

Rick Farris

Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

Rick began his tenure with FBMC in 2003, rising to the position of Director of Marketing at the time of his departure in 2008. He went on to gain a wealth of experience in employee benefits, healthcare data analytics and operational performance improvement as the Senior Vice President of Sales with Medical Development International, and as a Performance Management Consultant for RLG International. He is also certified associate in project management, and licensed in multiple leadership and training programs.

Beginning in July 2015, Rick began his latest role at FBMC as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer; leading the client services team, developing new sales strategies, forging new partnerships and fostering the growth of product lines.

Sajed Khan

Chief Operations Officer

With FBMC Benefits Management since 2017, Sajed Khan oversees the Information Technology, Benefit Administration, and Project Management units. He manages the development and tactical execution of strategic initiatives to advance organizational goals. This results in superb client-management and customer service skills at the highest levels. Using his more than 17 years of experience in the technology field, he’s an incisive technical leader with the ability to anticipate, develop and implement organizational needs, always leveraging best practices.

Board Chair

Mike has been in the insurance and benefits business since 1962 and in management since 1965.  A Miami, Florida native, he started his career after completing his education at the University of Miami and later founded FBMC in 1976.  He stepped down as President in 1997 and remains an active as Board Chair.

Agnes McMurray

Board Vice Chair

Agnes has been a member of the FBMC Board of Directors since 2000. She retired after 15 years as President of PESCO and Executive Vice President for FBMC’s Administration Services and Operations divisions. Following her retirement, Agnes opened her own project management and consulting firm. From 2006 to 2010 she contracted primarily with the Big Bend Rural Health Network providing grant writing and management services for outreach and education grants awarded by the Florida Office of Minority Health. She served as interim President of FBMC from February 2011 to June 2011. Agnes is actively engaged in the community and volunteers her time with environmental and political organizations.

Jerome Osteryoung, Ph.D.

Board Treasurer

Jerry’s educational background includes degrees from Georgia Tech, the University of South Florida and a doctorate from Georgia State University. He was the founding Executive Director of the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship and is a Professor of Finance (Emeritus) at the FSU College of Business. His written works on entrepreneurial and financial subjects are published regularly and he is an active community volunteer.

Anita Favors Thompson

Board Member

For close to two decades, Anita held the position of City Manager of Tallahassee until retirement. Over the years, she’s maintained a rigorous schedule of participation in the community that led to leadership positions associated with the American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Campaign, Florida A&M University Strategic Planning Committee, and Tallahassee Chapter of The Links, Inc. and more. She is a founding member of Oasis Center for Women and Girls, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Bethel AME Church in Tallahassee. Anita is a graduate of Park University, in Parkville, Missouri and earned an M.A. in Public Administration/Personnel Management from Central Michigan University.

Steven Evans

Board Member

Steven played baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals organization, for six years then joined IBM where he worked for more than 30 years. During his tenure at IBM, he served as IBM’s Senior State Executive for the State of Florida. Currently, he works with civic and community boards that include the Florida Tax Watch, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, United Way and Prime Meridian Bank. Since retiring from IBM, Steve’s been working with a group of investors and mentors in Tallahassee who have directly assisted and invested in starting several new companies in the manufacturing, technology, and banking industry. Steve serves as a mentor and executive coach to a number of individuals & organizations throughout the Southeast U.S. Steven graduated from the University of Michigan in 1971.
