FBMC HR Manager 2019 Big Bend SHRM chapter president

FBMC Human Resources Manager Monique Akanbi has been inducted to serve as the 2019 President of the Big Bend Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Tallahassee, Fla. – FBMC Benefits Management, Inc., is excited to announce our Human Resources Manager, Monique Akanbi has been inducted to serve as the 2019 President of The Big Bend Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Chapter.

Akanbi has been a member of the Big Bend SHRM Chapter since 2012 and has served as the Diversity & Inclusion Chair, HR Tallahassee Conference Chair, and President-elect. The aim of Big Bend SHRM is to promote a high standard of excellence for human resource practitioners. The Big Bend SHRM Chapter, founded in 1983, is over 250 members strong, representing more than 140 public and private entities in various industries.

Akanbi has a passion for service and assisting others in their identification of purpose, potential, and professional development through meaningful connections. “Monique will be a great leader for Big Bend SHRM,” said FBMC President, David Faulkenberry.

A graduate of Barry University, Akanbi received her degree in Public Administration with a specialization in Human Resources. She has a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification and became a Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) in June 2015. She has more than a decade of HR experience in both the public and the private sector. In addition, Monique is a Team Leader and Mentor with the Florida Sterling Council Board of Examiners where she visits organizations throughout the state across all industries to assess their leadership system and organizational performance through the National Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence model.
